i've been really into this song "aluminum baseball bat" by the howlies. (thanks jon). the lyrics are a little corny, but i like the "doo-wop" feeling going on. they're from atl, georgia and they've played shows with other rad bands like king khan & gaye blades (black lips side project). check it out:
